Installation
Do wall lights need to be installed by an electrician in Australia?
Yes. All Battii hardwired wall lights run on 240V mains power, and Australian law requires hardwired electrical fittings to be installed by a licensed electrician. It is typically a 30 to 60 minute job per light. Every light includes the wall bracket, screws and mounting hardware. Are Battii lights safe and certified for Australian homes?
Yes. Every piece is quality-tested to meet Australian safety standards and designed for Australian 240V / 50Hz mains power.
Can I install your wall lights in a bathroom?
Our indoor wall lights are rated IP20, which suits dry areas: bedrooms, hallways, living rooms and vanity walls away from direct water spray. For zones near showers or baths, ask your electrician about the IP rating required for that zone. Our guide to IP ratings explains how the zones work.
Can your wall lights be used outdoors?
Only our outdoor-rated lights, like The Orb waterproof LED sconce, are built for outdoor use. Our indoor collection (IP20) is for dry indoor areas only. That includes the natural stone fittings, which look robust but are not weather rated. See outdoor wall lights.
Are your lights dimmable?
It varies by model, so check the product page before you buy. Fittings with a replaceable globe, like the Volta, Solara and Remy, dim with a dimmable G9 globe and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer. The Alba and Petalo work with a compatible dimmer switch. Some fittings use built-in LED modules that are not dimmable. What is alabaster and why is it used in lighting?
Alabaster is a natural, translucent stone that has been prized in lighting for centuries. When lit, light passes through the stone itself, revealing its natural veining and producing a soft, warm glow that glass and plastic cannot replicate. Our alabaster pieces are carved from Spanish alabaster, and because it is natural stone, no two lights are identical. More in what is alabaster lighting.
What is the difference between a wall light and a wall sconce?
They are the same thing, a light fixture mounted on the wall rather than the ceiling. "Sconce" is the traditional term, more common in the US; "wall light" is more common in Australia and the UK. Our plain-English guide covers the types.
What kind of light do your fixtures give off?
Most Battii lights use warm white LEDs around 3000K, a soft, golden light suited to living spaces and bedrooms. Exact specifications are listed on each product page.
Will my stone light look exactly like the photos?
Close, but not identical, and that is the point. Alabaster, travertine and marble are natural materials with unique veining and texture, so every piece is one of a kind. Colour and pattern will vary slightly from the photos.
How high should I mount a wall light?
Roughly 150 to 170cm from the floor to the centre of the fitting in hallways and living areas, and 90 to 100cm above the mattress at a bedside. Our mounting height guide has the room-by-room numbers.
Shipping & Delivery
How long does delivery take?
In-stock items are dispatched from Sydney within 2 to 3 business days, and you will receive a tracking number by email. Delivery time then depends on your location and courier. Made-to-order and specialty pieces take longer, and the timeframe is shown on the product page before you order.
How much does shipping cost?
Standard shipping is a flat $15 Australia-wide, or $20 for Express. That is per order, not per item, so a pair of wall lights ships for the same $15 as one. Orders totalling $800 or more qualify for free Standard shipping at checkout. See our Shipping Policy for full details.
Do your prices include GST?
Yes. Every price on the site is in Australian Dollars and includes GST, and so do our shipping rates. What you see on the product page is what you pay at checkout, with nothing added at the last step.
Returns & Support
What is your returns policy?
We offer 30-day change-of-mind returns on stocked items, meaning a full refund or exchange with no restocking fee, as long as the light is unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging. Colour or finish exchanges count as change-of-mind returns, so return and re-delivery shipping costs are yours to cover. Custom, made-to-order and installed products cannot be returned for change of mind.
