What makes an outdoor wall light last in Australia?
Three things: the IP rating, the body material and the finish. A fitting on a fully exposed wall needs a higher IP rating than one under a covered porch, and coastal homes need finishes that will not pit in salt air. Is the Orb fully waterproof?
The Orb is designed for outdoor use with a sealed aluminium body and tempered-glass diffuser. Check the rating on its spec sheet against your location ā a covered entry or patio is ideal ā and have it installed by a licensed electrician with a weatherproof connection.
Can I use Battii indoor wall lights outside under a covered area?
No. The alabaster, ceramic, glass and stone fittings are IP20 rated. Use the Orb outdoors.
How high should outdoor wall lights be mounted?
Either side of a front door, around 1.6ā1.8 m to the centre of the fitting, roughly at eye level as you approach. Along a wall or patio, keep them at a consistent height 2ā3 m apart.
