Frequently asked questions about natural stone wlights

What is the difference between alabaster, marble and travertine wall lights?

Alabaster is translucent, so the light glows through it. Marble is dense and veined, so it is lit rather than lit through. Travertine is a porous limestone with a pitted, earthy surface that looks best with light raking across it. Battii makes wall lights in all three.

How heavy are stone wall lights and do they need special mounting?

They are heavier than glass or ceramic fittings but are designed to mount on a standard wall bracket, which is included. Your electrician should fix the bracket to solid framing or use appropriate plasterboard anchors.

Will the stone stain or need sealing?

Not in normal indoor use. Dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid water and cleaning chemicals on alabaster and travertine, which are porous.

Which stone light is brightest?

The Terra, with an 800-lumen 10W LED, and the Strata with a 10W E27 LED. The alabaster Alba and Petalo are gentler ambient lights designed for glow rather than task lighting.

Bloody happy with this purchase - absolutely stunning. Found it late one night and just went for it, reckon it’s one of the best things I’ve bought in ages. The frosted glass glows beautifully when it’s on, super soft and warm, way better than I expected from the photos (and the photos are already mint). Looks like proper art on the wall even when it’s off. Arrived really well packed, no dramas at all.
